Bow Hunting Season December 22, 2021 to January 31, 2022

The Fall bow hunting season for deer and turkey continues from December 22, 2021 to January  31, 2022 in several Lyme preserves. These preserves, which are owned by the Town of Lyme,  the Lyme Land Trust, and The Nature Conservancy will remain open to all users during bow hunting season.  Hikers and other users are encouraged to practice caution and wear bright colors in all the preserves during hunting seasons as adjacent public and private lands may allow hunting.

  • Chestnut Hill Preserve
  • Eno Preserve
  • Hand-Smith Preserve
  • Jewett Preserve
  • Johnston Preserve
  • Mount Archer Woods
  • Pickwick’s Preserve (privately owned)
  • Plimpton Preserve
  • Slawson Preserve

Please note that while no hunting is allowed on thse preserves Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, hunting may be allowed on adjacent State and private land every day of the week. Stay on trails and do not wander off the preserves.

Permits for hunting on these preserves are granted by the Town of Lyme Open Space Coordinator each year to a limited number of licensed hunters. The hunting program for this year is fully subscribed.
