NEW! August 30, 2024 Labor Weekend Special!

DATE COULD SHIFT BASED ON WEATHER– It is the kick-off to Labor Day Weekend, so let’s begin with a relaxing session under the night sky. Whether you’re staying put, having guests coming to you, or delaying your getaway to Saturday morning, this session is for you and yours. Come on out, family and friends in tow, and let’s reacquaint with the many beautiful astronomy targets of summer. By session’s end, we should even see Saturn making its reappearance after months of hiding in the Sun’s glare.

We have several different telescopes that are on display including a 14″ Schmidt-Cassegrain housed in a permanent observatory. Inside the observatory, you can watch deep sky objects grow in detail and full color on a wall-mounted monitor. Public sessions are co-facilitated by one or more of our growing cadre of astronomy cohorts: Mark Borton, Roger Charbonneau Jr, Jon Dean, Jay Drew, Scott Mallory, John Natale, Lee Polikoff, Parag Sahasrabudhe, Mark Strollo and Alan Sheiness.
