Planned Giving
Your Legacy. Our Environment.
Would you like to support the mission of the Lyme Land Conservation Trust with current resources you have available? Creating a lasting legacy for the Trust is easier than you might think. You can develop a comprehensive plan with your advisors that includes a bequest; retirement plan or life insurance beneficiary designations; and perhaps a Charitable Gift Annuity for you or a loved one in retirement years.
A comprehensive plan can allow you to create win-win solutions for you, your family and the Trust. You can make a gift that costs nothing during your lifetime. Here are some examples; you can:
- Include the Trust in your will.
- Name the Trust a beneficiary of your IRA, 401k, and 503b plan.
- Give appreciated stocks and bonds, or mutual fund shares and realize larger tax savings.
- Receive quarterly payments for life from a Charitable Gift Annuity.
- Donate property and get a tax break.
Depending on how you arrange your planned gift, it will have distinct tax, financial, and charitable benefits. You should consult with your advisors, both financial and legal, to determine what is right for you.

Heritage Society
The Lyme Land Trust established the Heritage Society to recognize members, neighbors and friends who have made plans to include the Trust in their estate plans through wills, trusts, charitable gift annuities, or life insurance. The importance of these future gifts to support the Trust should not be underestimated. They will provide endowment for added Land Trust resources to help fulfill our mission.
Membership in the Heritage Society provides an opportunity to say “thank you” to the generous individuals who have chosen to give back to the Trust through a deferred gift.
Anyone who notifies the Trust that their estate plans include the Land Trust becomes a member of the Heritage Society in recognition of their important future support. If you would like to learn more about membership in the Heritage Society or would like information about an estate gift, please call, or have your legal counsel contact, Kristina White, Executive Director, Lyme Land Trust.
